Sorry, no picture folks. Unfortunately, my stealth snapshot abilities were lacking - or I had the shakes from Internet withdraw, your choice :)

Alex and Julie (coworkers) invited me out to lunch at Larosas yesterday, which I couldn’t resist… Anything to get out of the cubicle for a little while! We get seated at the restaurant and we are chatting about various subjects, having a good time. When the waitress walks up, I noticed she looked a bit old, maybe 70ish, but I didn’t think too much of it - until we ordered drinks. I ordered a Diet Coke, and Alex chimed in with “make that two”, that is when we noticed that she must be an older model computer because she was unable to comprehend the response. There was a noticeable hitch as she kept trying to process what Alex requested. After she finally understood the drink order, she left us to crack up while she was gone… We were cracking all kinds of jokes about buffer overflows, old OS installs, and slow processors - we are so mean >:)

Normally you would think Ok, maybe this is where the story ends? WRONG! It got worse. When Julie was ordering some chicken wings as an appetizer, the waitress asked what kind of sauce she wanted, Julie told her “medium” - this caused her to “hitch” again! I think I made a comment about blue screening at that point. Anyway, it just kept going on and on.

I think I have completed my freeipods.com deal, just waiting on the 3 other deals BMG deals to confirm (which takes about 3 weeks to complete). I will keep updating this site with info about my IPod as I go through the process.

Here is a Getting Things Done sample chapter on how to customize outlook.

Are you seeing Tom J’s shirt? We had to wear sunglasses once he walked into the office!

Here are some of the comments overheard about the shirt in question:

Tom J: Any problems this morning? Me: No, just that shirt - it is an assult on the eye.
Chad: Who invited Chaqita?
Jeremy: He got mugged by a hi-liter on his way to work.
Carol: He is striving to look like Ronald McDonald with his yellow shirt and red car…

Oh, and cold’s suck… As my wife has pointed out :) I just need a hammer and some tape, so I can drain my head out.

Beware, me lucky charms!

School will be starting back soon, and I am NOT looking forward to it at all :( It is another communications class (read: Lots of writing), so yay me?!? I definately hate writing for school, but thank god for our review center - otherwise I might have failed a few classes. On that note, I did get an A in the last class, bringing my GPA to 3.83 so far!

The new TV shows are getting into gear this week, exciting stuff! Even the new season of The Wire started this past Sunday - I am such a TV junkie. Here is my usual schedule:

Monday: CBS comedies, including Everybody loves Raymond. CSI:Miami.
Tuesday: According to Jim, Scrubs, & Nip/Tuck
Wednesday: Smallville, West Wing, & Rescue Me (Grrr, CSI:NY is on that night too, will have to snag it off Suprnova)
Thursday: CSI & ER
Friday: Stargate-SG1 & Atlantis
Sunday: (All HBO shows)

So as you see, I am a true junkie…. Must… have…. T… V…

I am sooooo close on getting my IPod, just 2 more people to signup and complete an offer! I can almost taste it, mmmm, Sunshine dust.

Get stuffed together?

We traveled up to Columbus Ohio this Friday to meet my Uncle, Cousin, and her boyfriend up @ Ohio State. I attempted to preconfigure their wireless router, since they don’t have their internet yet, then we did a little stationary war driving (war sitting perhaps?) on the 6 networks that popped up. We were able to sustain a connection to one WEP-less setup for a few hours. After all that hard hacking, I needed some replenishment, so we headed to Smith & Wollensky for one heck of a meal feast. My wife ordered the Angry Shrimp, what a crazy dish, it came with 5 shrimp - they were enormous and spicy! After that meal and some dessert, we all had to be rolled out like Violet from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Needless to say, but I will, we had lots of fun :P

I was reading 43 Folders some more today (Thanks for the link, Chris), which I have been reading off and on for a week now - I am not a mac user, but I have read GTD. Anyway, one of the posts mentions pouring your life into RSS feeds or XML docs - I have been thinking about this the last two days, so it was funny I found the post today… Chris and I have been talking about some kind of calendar feed, and sure enough an RSS calendar tool was listed in the comments for this article.

On that note, I was speaking with Dave about his music collection and ITunes, which I just installed yesterday. It can dump your library to XML, so that is half of my battle… Now I just need to find a nice tool for DVDs, any ideas anyone?
