w00t! We discussed an interesting topic at work this morning - wet-wear… For those who don’t know the meaning, it is the marriage of biological and electronic elements. The idea is not something new, such movies as Johnny Mnemonic and Final Cut cover such topics. The question we posed was this: If you could get a hard drive, optical chip, or a wireless device implanted/interfaced into you, would you?
Germy said he would be the second in line… While Pete said; no way, no how, no sir! His argument was why mess with something that isn’t broken? I tend to agree with Jeremy, if you have the shot at a photographic memory (like I tend to have) why wouldn’t you LEAP at that chance? I know it is a skill I rely on each day, because people like to call you and assume that you can walk them through anything on their computer, so it is invaluable to visualize the screens in question in my mind and walk them through what comes next. We haven’t even mentioned the possible benefits to disabled people, such as control over your limbs even though you are paralyzed. Besides, who DOESN’T want a USB port in their arm?!?
