I just got off Skype Out with Chris, and it was very cool. I used my PDA with wireless and the built-in mic to talk to him, and I was impressed (as I think he was, also). It just amazes me how great this technology can be, but why has it taken so long to get big? Didn’t we have services like this before (Dialpad maybe)? Chris and I discussed the explosion of web services and RSS all over the internet, but I guess I still don’t understand why this has taken so long? I mentioned to him that I think the “blog” growth has fueled a lot of the websites and services we are seeing all over the net now. Combine the growth with recent software improvements around web technologies such as; Ajax, RSS feeds and readers, podcasts, tags, camera phones, and cheap bandwidth - I think it becomes clear why things are heating up so quickly. If you aren’t sure about what I mean, take a look @ Flickr, Delicious, Digg, Skype, Wordpress, and Basecamp for just a few examples. I haven’t had a chance to try one new technology out yet, but Orb sounds like some hot stuff! Now if only someone would release that sexy new MDA IV phone (or the HTC Universal), I would be set!

–Peace out

P.S. TROTTS rocks! I can’t wait for episode 2.

Today is one of those great “random” iPod song days… Nirvana, NiN, Cibo Matto, etc. Perhaps this is some kind of karmic “repayment” for the ill effects last nights pizza has had upon me.

I started listening to podcasts yesterday and I must say that I am impressed so far. I setup iPodder and MightySync to move the podcasts to my Dell Axim - now it probably feels like less of a red-headed stepchild. What we need now is a TV/Bit Torrent delivery system based on a RSS enclosure setup. Heck, if the price was right and HBO was onboard, I would even pay for it!

I found these cases for various PDA/mp3 devices. I like their cases because they are leather AND you can sync most devices while still in the case!

Some much has happened, I don’t even know where to start! (Insert long typing pause)

Petey was spotted on our most recent trip.

Our offer was accepted on our house!

We registered for the baby.

Chris and I are working on a new “super-secret” project. Our hope is to get some VC funding for this project, and then have our company/product purchased by Google.

It seems some stalker chick at my brother’s work was intersted in him… So she did some background checking! First she checked his criminal record and couldn’t find anything. Then she stumbled upon our Gallery! Run, Joe, run!

The Ft. Lauderdale airport is so nice because they provide free wireless for all travellers. Gotta love that! I must resist the urge to fire up WoW and play in the airport, it would kill what is left of my battery :(. When I get home and get my PDA hooked up, I will follow up with a post on our trip that includes some pictures.
